April News Update, Injustice: Gods Among us, Assassins Crred IV, Super Smash Bros. Wii U, and more!

Well, my tournament series has been completed, and today’s article is going to be covering all the gaming news that I have missed or not gone over while the tournament took place. First of all, I must say congratulations to Corvo Attano for not only being 2012’s best hero, but also defeating the didact, 2012’s greatest villain. There are quite a bit of stories that I can cover that occurred while I was out, including news and speculation about the next Super Smash Bros Game for the Wii U, news on the next generation consoles including the Xbox 720 and the PS4, the fantastic fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us came out today, news on the next Legend of Zelda for the Wii U, and news about the next Assassin’s Creed: Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag. I am not going to go too deeply into each topic because there is much to cover, however if you want me to write an article about a specific topic in depth let me know through the comments section.

First of all, the next title in the Super Smash Bros. game. There has been much rumors and speculation from recently and from the past. In 2011 there was a rumored cover and title shown of the game: Super Smash Bros: Universe showing an ensemble of new and interesting characters. These characters included Skyward Sword’s Link and also Giraham was shown. I personally think that Giraham would be a really cool and interesting character to play as. Also Mega man was shown, some sonic characters, and some Namco Bandai characters were shown as well, along with Super Smash Bros. typical group of characters. Sauraki, the head producer of the Smash Bros. games, soon explained that this was not possibly the title because they had not gotten that far into production yet. In addition they were teaming up with the company Namco Bandai Company to produce the game, and they were still busy working on Kid Icarus: Rising. Namco Bandai is going to attempt to make the game more unique and different from the previous Smash Bros. games. Namco Bandai has great fighting game experience supporting great title series like Soul Caliber and Tekken. After that everything went quiet for a really long time, the only news was that it would be on the Wii U. At a Nintendo conference in December 2012 the next Super Smash Bros. installment was mentioned, nothing was really revealed, however it was just said that the game would be revealed at E3 2013, the characters would be there, the controls, game play mechanics, everything. Right now there is much speculation about characters, Link is there of course but who will be the villain? Shall they have Giraham, which would be very unique, fast, and magical powered villain? If they used Demise, he would be much more like Ganondorf. People are wondering if they shall include toon link again as well. Another thing is that Sauraki said that one third party character would come from Capcom, and it has become very clear that this character is most likely Mega Man. People are also debating about which pokemon will be present in the new one, and it may be completely unique characters that will be in the upcoming Pokemon X and Pokemon Y games. What you think? Post in the comments.

The play station 4 controllers were revealed, and it looks basically identical to the Play Station three one, except smoother, wider and larger. I am glad about that because personally as and Xbox 360 accustomed gamer, I found that the Play Station controller was pretty small, and the handles were so small my hands would slip off sometimes, which was quite annoying if one was not used to it. Both consoles look like they are going to harness very superior hardware power and great graphics. As for the first games to be released, Halo 5, Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag, are among many titles that will be released for the console, and most likely another Call of Duty game because they are released out every year like a baby getting a new pacifier every year. The internet is definitely filled with flame wars already. However the prices for these new consoles may be very high. Comment if you would like me to talk more about this subject however it is currently time to move on. Also did I mention that the controllers have touch screens?
A great game came out today: Injustice: Gods Among Us is a DC comics fighting game, which I highly suggest readers check out. This game was created by the creator of 2011’s Mortal Combat. The combat is extremely similar fighting game to Mortal Combat, except one can interact with objects in the map to fight, go through walls, have dialogue, and show damage over time like blood and ripping costumes. The plot made it realistic so that heroes could fight each other. IN the game the joker killed Lois Lane and her and Superman’s child that she was pregnant with, he also took over metropolis. After this Superman wanted to create a world order, however Batman had formulated a rebellion against this order because it was not just. The fame includes the following characters: Bane, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Arrow, Superman, Shazam, Green Lantern, Sinestro, Cat Woman, Nightwing, Solomon Grundy, the Joker, Lex Luthor, Hawk Girl, Cyborg, Doomsday, Ares, and Killer Frost. The maps include Wayne Manor, Wayne Manor night, Arkham Asylum, Arkham Asylum (taken over by joker), Gotham city, metropolis, central city (I think), the space station, and a few other maps. If you are a fan of fighting games, or DC comics, this is a great game for you.

In Legend of Zelda news the Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages games had become available for online Wii U download. If you are a fan of the 2-D Zelda games and own a Wii U, you should download these and they are very cheap. Wal-Mart is preparing pre-orders of the game, however they are not calling it Legend of Zelda Wii U; they are calling it Legend of Zelda RPG. This gets even closer to the fact that the game will be much like a role playing game. Also I believe much of the game shall be released in E3 2013. It was also revealed that Nintendo was highly considering doing an HD remake of Majora’s Mask and not Wind Waker. This would be really cool in my opinion, and it makes sense because it is a sequel of another remade game. However Wind Waker is really fun too and I do see that they are experimenting different types of HD quality graphics.

If you are not knowledgeable of the Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag news, then you probably live in a hole, or are just simply not an Assassins Creed fan. Black Flag takes place in early eighteenth century Caribbean based off of the life of pirates. The main character is an Assassin Edward Kenway, yes, the father of Haythem Kenway. He works with various famous pirates including Black Beard (he is a real pirate) and many others. The game is going to have vast exploration, without any loading screen one can simply go out into their pirate ship, sail the seas, find an island, explore its forests and towns, do a mission, and even explore under water wreckages. This sounds amazing and fun, the graphics also look great. It shall be for the Xbox 720. The enemies in the games shall be imperial Great Britain and imperial Spain, and the pirates shall fight them for independence. This game is said to not only be a pirate adventure, but also have many city portions of gamepaly where free running and stealth are said to be very, very relevant, possibly going back to the first Assassin Creed’s necessary stealth. It is also promised to be smoother than Assassin’s Creed 3 stealth, which was very buggy and annoying. I am personally very excited for this game; it is going to be great, despite being still a forever Ezio fan and loving his games this game may become a famous one.

First of all, if you would like me to go deeper into any of these topics than please express that in the comments section. Also I thought that the tournament I held was pretty cool, and I may want to do want to do another, but of bigger scale. Perhaps a greatest hero or villain tournament in all of video gaming, with all of our favorite contenders such as Mario, Sonic, Mega man, Gordon Freeman perhaps voted into their positions. If you, the fans and readers, want me to just write about gaming news, please express that, however this concludes all of the video gaming news for the past two months.
